Not all platforms treat file names the same way.

Avoid using file name extensions that are not automatically generated by the software that you are using.

If your software is not the latest version, make sure that we are aware of this when we receive the job files. Different versions can cause text to reflow with undesirable results especially in multiple page documents.

When adding boxes or rules to your artwork, always specify the line width and never use the default hairline setting in your software.

The width of a hairline is resolution dependent on the high-resolution imagesetter.

We can scan Scitex CTs which make two files for each scan - one is a low resolution file with an ".e" file ending and this links up to the high resolution scan of the same name eg high res file name is "water" and low res file name is "water.e" These low res scans be placed, rotated, scaled up 20% and scaled down 30% and also be printed. When the file is sent back to Repros, the low res scan links to the high res scan file which has been stored by Repros for output to film.

Do not rename low res files. They will not link to the high res files archived at Repros.

The advantages for you are the small image files that you work with in your page layout program.

HOWEVER LOW RES FILES CANNOT BE EDITED IN YOUR IMAGE-EDITING PROGRAM. You need the high res scan files for this.
